Recently, my G500 was behaving very strangely. On a dell cloth pad, the mouse would simply grossly not follow my motions missing 3/4 of a large movement.
My settings are the highest default DPS and windows standard acceleration and speed settings.
I searched and I saw someone mentioning blowing out the optics with compressed air, so I did that. I am wondering now if that was a bad idea. It seems the optics inside the mouse move with significant force applied to them. The erratic behavior seemed to happen overnight, but has mostly gone away with the compress air but things are still a little "off." I swear there are still errors at the end of a movement.
However, the mouse while feeling much better still doesn't feel right. I've tried using it on a dark wooden desk, but the finish is too sticky with the mouse, making fine movements more difficult and inaccurate than they need to be. I suppose a new pad *is* in order, wouldn't you say? However, the Dell cloth pad has always felt great up until about a week ago when the erratic behavior started.
Do mice wear out? I simply don't feel very accurate with this mouse, fine movements being somewhat difficult, such as exiting out of Firefox tabs from a next door tab. Thoughts? Is there a way to tell if the mouse if behaving properly. Could my mouse be broken? What is the best way to clean the mouse feet?
