Logitech G5 with Icepad

I just purchased a Logitech G5 mouse and an Icepad V2. The mouse will work on wood, cloth, etc. but will not work on the Icepad! The laser has no contact whatsoever when it's on the Icepad. Is this a setting or a known compatibility problem?

Oh and also, I just tested my MX500 on the Icepad and it's working brilliantly.

Thanks

I think because its a laser mouse its a compatibilty problem sry see if you can still return it.

You may want to ask ppl with experience with this setup though this is jsut what I've heard

518 is a regular LED. The lazer in the G5 is a higher concentration lazer than the MX1000, so it will not pick it up on a black/really dark surface, compared to a MX518.

Try a refund but if you can't get one and are still intent on using the g5 then yes sell it

Unfortunately I got it off eBay so I don't think the guy will accept a return. I guess i'll put it up for sale on here.

Wow superjohnyo. It works with that firmware. Thanks.

Despite the firmware, will the Icemat still hinder my performance?

I had the same issue with my G7.

I bought the grey Icepad 2 and it didn't track at all!

I called Logitech on the phone and they told me that the new laser just passes through the glass and it might only work on the black one.

I had to send mine back.

I hope you get yours to work.

I was sad it didn't work. It is a very sexy piece of kit the icemat. The best mousemat I ever owned (even if it was for a couple of hours :) )
