logitech g5 scrollwheel problem

i just bought a new logitech g5 mouse (blue skin). i don't know if all of these mice are like this but mine makes quite a loud noise when using the scrollwheel (especially when scrolling up). also clicking the scrollwheel takes quite a lot of pressure.

are all of these g5 list this or is mine somehow mechanically defective?

The scrollwheel on mine is virtually silent, but the middle mouse button takes a little pressure to push down. It doesn't bother me though because i hate using middle mouse button for anything.
