Logitech G5 mouse... Sometimes moves on it own?

So, sometimes I'll be listening to something and decide to not shut off my monitor and let it go into the screen saver mode... Well, ok, that happens... but then sometimes it jumps out of the mode as if my mouse moved. >_< This happens when I watch movies too. I am watching a movie in VLC and then, the little bar at the bottom pops up like I moved the mouse.. but I am NOT! Nothing is vibrating the desk, nothing...

Any suggestions? I don't want a new mouse. I just want to know if other people are experiencing this.

Check for driver updates and just palin reinstaqll the drivers. If the problem presists then conatact logitech about the issue and see aboue a replacement.

Laser mice tend to drift when used on cloth mousepads (even when they're left alone). What type of surface are you using your G5 on?

I've never seen a laser mouse that does NOT move on its own. (the signal, not physically). And I don't think it depends on the surface. At least, in my experience.

If it's happening often enough, you'll want to contact technical support. Otherwise, just ignore it. As long as the mouse is not clicking by itself, you can be sure it isn't a virus.

And if you DO call tech support, ensure that you can reproduce the problem accurately. This sounds like one of those cases where the patient gets cured as soon as he/she sees the doctor. ;)

You could have some dust by the lens making things move. The G5 also has a really stiff braided cable, so can easily move the mouse under it's own weight and resistance if you have it up against something or just hanging off your desk.

really? ive only ever used cloth mousepads and ive never had the drive because of them

when it has happened to me its always because of some dir/hair on the pad messing things up
