Since you can adjust dpi up to 2000 on the g5, is it better to set your mouse speed lower and raise the dpi (to get better tracking with the cursor moving at the same speed)?

For example, I usually have my cursor motion speed set pretty high. I lowered it a little bit but also set the dpi to 1000 (for the middle setting which I use for web browsing and games). The end result seemed to be the same speed on the cursor, but is it tracking better/more acurately?

Thanks!

It doesn't matter, it just depends on whether you like to have two dpi steps higher, two lower, or one higher and one lower. The imager in the mouse is always running at the same speed. So taking 2000 dpi samples in the mouse and then cutting out half of them via software sensitivity, or setting the mouse to 1000 dpi and using the default sensitivity give the same result.
