What do others recommend?:

Logitech g25 or Logitech Driving Force Gt?

Use would be for PS3, PS2, and PC games.

I've owned a few wheels for PC SIMS over the last 10 years and the G25 is the best wheel i've used, if you have the money get one.

i finally bought a G25 and a wheelstandpro about 2 weeks ago, primarily for GT5 P, and even though the build quality on both are excellent i found the experience rather flat and disappointing. sure theres a clutch and shifter (which is kinda flimsy) but after reading how immense GT5 P was with a G25 i expected more

as a result it boxed up in the cupboard next to my ms wheel

saying that if it worked with xbox and forza it would probably get more use

I haven't used it with my PS3 yet but I play rFactor and the iRacing simulation and get a great experience from both.

the force feedback is stronger, smoother and more sensitive in the G25 then it is in the GT. G25 is worthy upgrade.

The Logitech Driving Force GT is supposed calibrated specifically for Gran Turismo 5 (I assume that would als mean Gran Turismo 4?)

Does the G25 have the same out of the box calibration, and how well do these wheels work for other PS2/PS3 and PC based racing / driving games and sims?

It's a tough call. The G25 is a very high quality wheel and enjoys lots of PC gaming support. However, the Driving Force GT has PS3 buttons (Including the PS3 button) and made specifically for the Gran Turismo franchise, includes a special on the fly vehicle settings adjustment, and costs much less than the G25.

If the purpose of this wheel is for Gran Turismo and Gran Turismo only, then get the application specific Driving force GT. If you like to play other driving games and Gran Turismo is one of many, many that your own. Then I would choose the G25.

I am researching the same thing, but am too poor to get the G25 so the Force GT it is.

Try ebay. I have seen them sell for less than $200.

I bought a G25 off of craigs list for $80. The wheel had 4 months of use on it and came with a two year warranty from Newegg.

This reminds me that I need to do this comparison still. I have both a G25 and a Driving Force GT and have only messed around with the DF:GT.

If people are interested enough, I still might do that write-up or coverage on the Podcast.
