I just got my G15 today and its a beautiful KB but I can't get the LCD to display anything...I've pressed all the buttons around it.I've read the manual and readmes and nothing works.

Could it be I have a faulty KB?

Thanks.

Couple of questions:
-Did you install drivers?
-What OS are you using (doesn't work in linux)

yes, more info needed. also, i assume it is plugged into a powered USB port? it could be a faulty LCD display, but lets eliminate other possibilities first.

are you using the latest software?

i remember back then, the old G15 software had problems when you were using a software firewall like ZA. i noticed that my LCD would work until ZA finished loading, then the screen would start flashing LCD screen saver and the applet would crash.

ok, well, sounds like the LCD is busted. only G15 ive used it worked straight away. have a look in the software, and just tell it to display one thing only (just the performance meter thingy maybe?). if still nothing, and the G15 app is definately showing that it should be displaying, its RMA time.

I'm using the latest lgk 102 drivers, also the LED backlights seem to refresh/flicker ever now and then is that normal? and I don't see any big difference in LED modes dark/brighter....maybe its me on the department.

I didn't say this earlier but this is a refurbished unit....loooks brand new and everything,I didn't say it was a refurb unit because that may affect answers.I don't know what to do know...I will contact the place I got it from and see what happens.

Thanks guys for the speedy replie, thats why i love it here.

Vlad.

No, the backlight should never refresh or flicker. The two lcd brightness modes are pretty close together though.

Maybe its a USB powering issue...these lights flicker alot...I'd say every 5 seconds and sometimes even more randomly...I'd hate to send this KB away for RMA I had to wait a loongt ime to get it the 1st time :(

Try it on a diff computer is possible, but it still sounds like an issue with the KB, as I said, the one I have used worked like a dream straight off the bat.

It has to be plugged directly into the motherboard. Also, the USB ports on the kb won't power thumb drives. For some reason, Windows thinks that they pull to much power.

I've only inserted into the motherboard, those are my only powered USB ports,I have no active USBs plugged into the kb's USB.

Not accurate.

I use my USB Card Reader, and a Thumb drive from the USB port of my G15, and they work perfectly fine.

not to mention i also use it to connect my Logitech Lazer mouse, and to USB Charge/Sync my Palm Treo 650

i have it directly connected to the Mobo USB 2.0 port.

it's true i've tried it before connecting it through t a USB 2.0 hub, and it doesn't work quite right, if it's not connected directly to the Mobo

EDit: almost forgot, also my External 160 GB USB drive.

these ports in the Keyboard are soooo darn convenient, not having to reach back and down to the box :D

Hmm. I tried, and it didn't work for me. I'll see if I can find the article. Maybe they came out with a fix, as it was a Windows issue? Thanks for the correction though.

Yeah, I have used USB flash drives on a G15. not sure which version of software, just straight off CD, didnt check website for later versions of anything. not sure if I tried running the Razer Copperhead off it, but I know the USB drive worked.
