Simple question really. I know I should not do Vs. threads but this is an important question to me.

How much would you pay extra for a G15 Rev 2 over a G11? I am not really convinced that the LCD is worth much to me and there doesnt seem to be much of a difference as far as features are concerned.

The smallest difference in price between them at UK is the larger side of £10 approximately $20 in your money.

Would you pay $20 more for a G15 over a G11 and why?

I might pay $20 more for an original G15, seeing as how the newer one has far fewer programmable keys (6 vs. 18), thus I'd save my money and go with the G11. But that's just my opinion.

I hope I can still get a hold of another G15 with 18 'g' keys if I need to replace the one I have. I love having the keys laid out the way they are on this keyboard. I need to get another one just in case--run life in RAID 1. :D Would I spend $20 for a rev 2, no. I'd spend $30 more for an original one though.

Why would you pay $20-30 extra for a Rev 1 over the G11? Just for the LCD?

Oh wow, I thought the G11 had the single row of keys like the rev 2.

yeah, pretty sure the G11 is identical to the old G15 sans the LCD...

If you're lucky, you might be able to find an older G15 at Bestbuy for $19-29. There's a thread in the Hot Deals forum about it.

If we had G15 Rev 1 prices like that here, Id jump on one right away, even at twice the price they smash our UK prices.

I'd pay $40 at most for a G15, only rev2. The rev1s I'd pay $25 or less. I value aesthetics and pragmaticism over other qualities (i.e. the original G15 was too wide for some keyboard trays, and it was UGLAY. the new G15, OTOH, looks great).

so you value form over function?

I use my keyboard as an input device. The better it can perform such a function the more it is worth to me.
