logitech first mouse screwup

hi ppl..

So far i've been using the standard 3 button logitech serial mouse.
The mouseware from logitech worked perfectly.

I just purchased the logitech first mouse(3buttons/serial).
i have Me and 2k installed on my system.
If i connect my new mouse and boot up into Me, he does not detect the new mouse(before restarting i had removed all the drivers of the original mouse). On doing add new hardware, he detected a logitech serial mouse, but damm thing refuses to move even after a restart. It'll start working only if i refresh it from the device manager. Again after restart no mouse(i can see the cursor, but can't use it).I installed mouseware 9.10 as well, no luck.

Anybody have a solution for this. t's getting damm frustrating coz a mouse never caused me soooo much trouble.

The above mentined things, it all happenes all over again in win2k..same ditto problems.
😕

TIA

regards

mayureshw - since the OS detects the mouse, then I'm sure that it might be a calibration problem... if it were anything else... windows would've prompted you w/ a "NO MOUSE" error at the loadup of the desktop.

Try calibrating the mouse in the control panel...
Could also be an internal hardware problem... if that's the case, return it and pick up a new one... if problem presists

Then go USB 😉 those never give you problems 😀

Hope you get it working - Good luck 🙂

how do you calibrate a mouse 😕
Never done that before...

Ya, i'm pretty certain that the mouse is working fine coz after i install mouseware, even the middle button works, but only untill the next restart.

The Logitech 9.29 drivers are out there now. Try them.
I have used the 1st Mouse for 2 years now (the 3 btn, not the 2 btn
and wheel) without any problems on Win95 and Win98SE.
In fact I'm now using a Dexxa (made by Logitech) 3 btn with the
MouseWare 9.29 drivers and I love it......

but my problem starts with windows not detecting my hardware.
i'm having to refresh everytime i rebbot.
i've just finished downloading the latest mouseware, but i'm not so sure it'll work...
i'll go home and try it now...

thanx anyways
