Logitech F710 gamepad issues

The wireless signal seems to go in and out. My USB dongle is on the front of the pc and directly below and to the right of where I hold the gamepad. It can't be more than 4 feet away. Is something wrong with my gamepad, or are they all a little finicky in terms of signal strength? Very annoying to be racing in dirt3 and then try to turn right and instead crash into a tree lol
 
For what it's worth, mine does the same thing. It infuriates me to the point that I just go back to using my 360 pad.
