Where I want to use the controller in my living room, about 10 feet from my desktop, I seem to not be able to get a clear connection with the wireless USB adapter on the front of my desktop. Is there anything that can be done to boost the signal of a logitech wireless device receiver?

Perhaps if the signal can't be boosted, is it possible to buy a long USB cord to bring the receiver physically closer to me? I only need it to go about 7 feet. It just seems silly to have a wireless controller that doesn't go any farther than a wired one reaches.
