My keyboard really sucks. For some reason my F8 key doesn't work. Of course didn't notice that until I was trying to access the special screen when Windows failed. Also couldn't reload Windows XP and 2K when the F8 key kept me from accepting the EULA before the install. It seems to be the only key broken but not sure. Grrr, now have to call logitech to hopefully get this fixed.

Did you have the F-Lock on?

Is there a way to disable the F-lock function? This is the lamest feature I have ever seen for a keyboard.
I use this keyboard and I love it overall, but not without some exceptions. The F-key idea is ok but the implementation is a totally friggin craptastic! The default should NOT be special F-keys on, it shoud be the opposite, F-Keys on normal. Then push the button if you want to activate the special F-key functions. The good thing is on my new gigabyte 8KNXP, (dunno if thats the reason) the F-key stays at the setting I left when I shut the machine down. It didnt do this before on my other Intel chipset. I had to remember to push the F-Key button everytime I started the computer up which was driving me insane.
The control over the special key functionality is extremely limited too. Maybe I am missing something but I see no options to program those keys for different apps and such. Luckily they do work close to what I want for most programs. The extra wheel and the dial volume is great for me. I use them in my audio/video apps and its very convenient. The keys are fine for me and the shape is cool and comfortable. The color matches my black mica desk, monitors, and computers which is nice but not gonna make or break my purchase.

Overall I'd keep this keyboard over any I have used but again, it's not without it's drawbacks. Drawbacks in my case which could be fixed with better key management software from Logitech. I hope some better software comes out for it.
