Logitech DiNovo Question, Batteries

im using windows xp sp2, and the logitech dinovo set with newest drivers.

the problem is i get a popup telling me i have low mouse battery life when in fact the batteries are brand new, and fully charged. the red warning light on the mouse isnt even on.

the pop ups get really annoying. i know the batteries are fine. i tried reinstalling the drivers and software with no luck. any ideas? could it be sp2? i didnt have this issue with sp1a.
