Logitech Cordless USB WheelMouse w/Linux-Mandrake 7.2?

I got one of these handy-dandy special extra wheel mice and am attempting to get LM 7.2 to recognize it. I go into the mouse part of DrakConfig and it does not appear to be accepting it when I click on the USB entry. I was previously running a serial wheelmouse and got tired of cleaning it. Are there any Linux gurus around to point me in the right direction? I am researching it but was wondering if any had already trod along this path.

yeah, i was under the assumption that the latest kernel had no USB support.

wait, what version is the latest kernel?
