Hello,

In my disgust with the ITouch software, I am writing this to you. Yes, the star trek buttons are totally impressive and disgusting. Did you install the keyboard software so all the buttons would be configured to operate as Logitech intended? Well if you did and your an advid gamer, be prepared to be totally disgusted. Atari, the technical support folks for a number of PC games including Unreal Tournament, confirms that "This software is known to cause issues with several games.". To make this long story very short...once this software is installed you will be unable to play Unreal Tournament. You'll get a critical error GPF and the game wont' launch no matter how many times or ways you find to install or uninstall the software, including the clean boot method. This was tested on WinXP and WinMe. I will be returning this combo to the store. I'm not paying for buttons and features that cannot be used.

Buy the way, the brains at Logitech came up with a solution. Uninstall the software. A big thanks for that solution!
This software has cause problems with my last logitech keyboard also. This was my last Logitech product.

Regards,
Keith

Thanks for your reply :)

I'm aware of that. Msconfig setting are meant to be only a temporary solution. This issue needs to be fixed, not a workaround.
I spoke with an owner of a website yesterday that has had this problem for quite awhile and didn't know what was causing it until I shot him this same memo I shot here. He was so happy since he had tried so many things to get the game working. Since this keyboard and game are so widespread, Logitech needs to get in the working mode and fix this problem. I don't like the fact that once I push one of their keyboard buttons and find it won't work, forgetting that I have to launch their software to get it to work. The keyboard software should not have to be launched each time it is needed, for those who choose to install it. The best choice at this time is to not install it if your a gamer. Doesn't that suck?

I am grateful for your time and effort to search this issue though.

Yes, I agree it's rather bad form on Logitech's part (even though it's relatively old game).

I can play UT /and/ use the extra buttons on my keyboard though. Gotta love Linux. ;)
