I'm interested in getting a cordless keyboard, and I would prefer it to be in the MS natural style. Unfortunately, Logitech is the only one who seems to make such a thing, and it comes with a cordless mouse.

I don't want a mouse though, I want a trackball. I like the Marble FX, which coincidentally, is now only available cordless.

Anyway, does anyone know how the receiver works with the Cordless Freedom Pro? Does it come with two receivers, one for the mouse and one for the keyboard, or do they both use the same receiver? If they both use the same one, would the marble FX work with the Cordless Freedom Pro receiver so I could sell the mouse?

I don't understand why you have to buy a mouse in order to get the best keyboard. grr.

the logitech keyboard+mouse wireless combos has a receiver for both devices, 2 connectors for ps2 users. one is for keyboard, the other is mouse. you can plug in one without having the other one. to go into further detail, there are 2 usb plugs with 2 usb to ps2 adapters (one for each).

the logitech mouse have one receiver.

I do believe that the devices operate at different frequencies, so you cannot use the kb\mouse receiver with the trackball.

btw, i hate the logitech natural style keyboards. the stupid insert\home\pg up stuff is 3x2 instead of 2x3.

Thanks for pointing the insert/home thing out, that's really annoying, I use those all the time too.

Ah well, guess I won't be getting a cordless keyboard. :(
