The mouse in this combo has been flawless. I haven't had a problem with it so far. The keyboard is driving me nuts because I'll install the batteries, hit connect on the receiver, then connect on the keyboard, and it'll connect and work for a few minutes to a few hours. Then it'll be unresponsive suddenly. When I try reconnecting the keyboard, nothing happens. The only solution I've found is to take the batteries out every time and reinstall them, then connect. What's going on?

Note: Yes, the batteries are fresh alkaline AA cells, installed correctly. I can do that much. :)

Any interference between the keyboard and the receiver? I have been using it since it was released and no battery change for the keyboard, it performs so well without any problem. Or defective? Did you go to Logitech website to see any faq or technical support?

I also have this combo and have ahd no issues with it, perhaps it is as previously suggested: inteference of some sort. Is the base close to other electrical devices, etc?

I don't think interference is an issue, since the mouse is about the same distance as the keyboard, and it's flawless. I might have to try tech support. Any other suggestions?
