A bit of old news, but according to IGN.com, logitech is going to provide new control pods for both US and European customers at their expense.

Full story can be read here

Man, Logitech has gotta be one of my favorite companies now. Silly holiday rebates, MX700 (godsend), free mouse and keyboard, and addressing this hiss issue (I don't even own Z-680's.) Great news for 680 owners.

For affected customers, Logitech will replace the Control Center with an updated unit at Logitech's expense. (This is for both EU and US customers). Logitech is dedicated to providing the best possible product experience for all of our customers.

Great company indeed.

Logitech has had repeated issues with their speakers - either get it right the first time or get out of the business. There's no point in offering a "high quality" product if it needs to be replaced constantly

I agree with the raging bitch, they should do it right the first time because it's such a pain to have to get a part replaced, even at their expense, since it's time and energy consuming.

At least they're fixing this problem the best they can though. =)

Grr....but mwave.com just raised their price $10 this week....still, $263 is a good deal considering my FP2000s can't hold their volume steady and need to be replaced.

I got mine from Dell about a week ago, it is new pod version 1.1.2

hissing still exists, but not as bad. you have to be very close to the speakers to hear them

logitech says they will release a newer version but no immediate date :(

these speakers are awesome and i love its decoding abilities
