So I am considering getting this LED Strip for my case from Newegg, I don't want the NZXT LED Strip in case someone might suggested I owned it before and didn't like it, plus I really like this one.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811994051

My question is that I noticed its powered on by Molex connection but I don't know if you have to use both Molex (Picture on link) or just one? So maybe you can pick which one you want to use? One is a Female Molex the other one is Male with the 4 Prongs?

I ask because I have a Fully Modular PSU (Not the same rig I have on my description need to update) and I would have to pull out the whole Power supply to connect the Molex connection and I don't want to do that, so Instead I want to buy a Molex to SATA Converter, but the converter I saw on Newegg is Male Molex with the 4 metal Prongs.
This one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...re=molex_converter-_-9SIA6J12H28878-_-Product

So could I just use the Female one on the LED STRIP to connect it to the male on the Converter or do you have to use Both MOLEX on the LED STRIP? that's what I don't understand. Is that why there are two of them on the LED strip and you have to use them both? That's really my question.

From looks of it, one molex is male (to plug into a female molex to get power) the other is female, so you can plug something else in it that needs power. Basically it's just so it does not use up a connector. You can plug a fan or other item on the other end.

Just one. You can add more led strips by connecting them to the other end to extend the length.

So would you be confident in saying that you would Not have to use both Molex Connections on the LED Strip in order it for it to work? or would you have to use Both, the male and the female connection specifically to power on the Strip and its little Box?

That's what I really don't get. Are they giving you the option to choose if you want to plug it in to the Male or Female to power the LED? or are you forced to use both?

I don't want to buy it if you have to use both Molex to power it on. But if I can just use one out of the two, say the female only to power the LED strip and the Box with it? then I am going to buy it.

Sorry I was replying to the other post before I saw your reply. Are you confident of this? Because I don't want to buy it if I have to use Both or the Male on the LED.

Thanks

You just plug in the male Molex into your power supply's female Molex connector and can ignore the female end.

Why? First, because the female is provided to keep you from losing the Molex you used on the power supply cable...it's just a daisy chained plug.

Second, because there's no place to plug it into unless you have another accessory for it.....there's nowhere to plug a female Molex, or any other plug, into any plug that terminate from your power supply cables.

If you look at your power supply cables that exit your computer's power supply, every cable terminates in female connectors, no matter the connector. Molex, PCI-e, SATA, 20+4 mb, EPS/CPU 4/8 pin connector---they're all female. And they're done that way for safety. You don't want energized male pins floating around loose and potentially giving an easy place to short out your power supply.

So, just plug in the male, tuck the female away unless you need it for another accessory that uses Molex connectors.

Great! thanks for clarifying guys! I am going to buy it pretty soon then. Just waiting on some stuff to clear out first.

Thanks again for all the help. Next time I will post in the proper part of the Forum.

2/23/2016: Just spent the $20 on the Converter and the LED's, haven't being exited about something this small in a while.

Guys I do have One more question.

To power on this LED I clearly needs a Molex connection, whether male or female. However here is where I am confused, maybe because I am tired today, but basically I would need something that can convert a SATA connection to Molex right?. Since I can't plug my Molex cable into the PSU because I can't pull the PSU out of the case.

So would this be what I need to power a Molex with SATA connection?

Both of those adapters will work. One just has an extra Molex connector that you don't need.
