Gargaro, Hong, Dwyer and Slocumb are lathe operator, sales associate, chef and sports reporter , thoughnot necessarily in that order. About these four men we hae the following information. Who does what?Facts:

1) Hong plays tennis frequently with Gargaro, and usually wins
2) Dwyer and Hong ride in the same car pool to get to work.
3) Slocumb earns less than Dwyer.
4) The lather operator rides his Harley to work.
5) Neither the sales associate nor the sports reporter earns as much as the chef.
6) The chef lives on the opposite sides of the city from the sales associate.
7) The sports reporter knows the chef only from the latter?s second place finish in the Cedars Hospital10k

If you solve it please Tell me your steps on how you sovled it .

No That cant be Righ because Chief would Car pool with sales .
And if you do solve it i need the steps you use thanks.

That was typo fixed.

Okay, well, regardless, we know that sports and sales car pool together, since the lathe worker rides his harley and the chef lives across town.. and we know that the lathe worker makes the most, because if he didn't then they would have mentioned him making less than the chef too.. right? so that gives us something to work with. right?

Where did you get this? The information really isn't helpful to make it so you can really answer the question.

Is it legal to assume that because they didn't say that the lathe worker made less than the chef that he actually makes the same or more than him?

okay, well, here is what i have.. ASSUMING that just because they didn't say that the lathe worker makes less than the chef that he still CAN make LESS than him.. here is how i got to my answer:

chef lives across town, so he doesn't carpool
lathe worker rides his harley to work
sports and sales carpool
Dwyer and Hong carpool
Hong wins at tennis against Garago
hong = sports writer
Dwyer = sales
Garago = lathe b/c Hong doesnt know the chef well and garago and hong play tennis
Slocom = chef

Garago - Chef
Hong - Sales
Dwyer - Sports Writer
Solcumb - Lathe

Assumption: Lathe operater makes less than a sports writer.

That sounds good but i need to make sure that its 100% correct what will work under no assumptions. Also please list your steps.

I wonder if it was the sort of question where the answer is that the details aren't sound enough for an answer.

I'm a little interested myself. Because the question doesn't really work unless you make some big assumptions.
