Logical block out of range error for my burner...

I'm putting my old burner into someone else's machine, using nero and win98se...

I've tried 2 different burners. This burner is a philips 4x4x24 speed, and the other was a HP 2x2x6...

The HP got an error of power calibration error...

Any ideas what could be wrong, or are both these burners dead? (the philips should work, it worked before I took it out and replaced it with my liteon burner...

Also, the cd's can be read, Nero recognizes them as their speed and manufaturer, but the philips which should work, doesn't. It does simulation fine though?

Ugh, damn computers 🙁

Calibration errors in most cases are caused by hardware (cd writer) problems or component failures. The laser diodes that do the writing operate at a higher power and thus have a shorter lifetime.

Simulation passing means your ASPI and operating system are configured correctly for proper CD recording. I've seen systems that will pass a sim and fail a real burn. Replacing the writer solved the problem!

Cheers!

Yeah, I figured the hp burner was dead, but the philips error of: Logical block out of range may mean what?

I'm confused because it just did work in my main rig.

Any ideas?

If not I guess I'll give up my liteon 24x to put in some POS 1995 computer 🙁
