Logic Board Replaces b/c of 8600

I just got my early 08 MBP logic board replaced because of the faulty 8600 issue at the apple store (what an ordeal that was).

Do I need to do anything like format and restore from my TC backup or do a fresh format or anything since its new hardware?

When I turned on the mac it said my time was set to march 20, 2000 and that I would have y2k compatibility errors with some software until the date was set until after 2001.

Also unfortunately my TC wont backup to my old backups cause the mac addy on my mac changed and TC identifies a mac by its mac addy for backing up.

Any help or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

You could reformat your hard drive and reinstall Leopard on it so it feels like a new mac, then use Time Machine to restore your stuff onto it.

Do you think thats necessary? I don't mind formatting but I actually just formatted about a month ago.

In this case, if you really don't want to, I don't think you must reformat. Personally, though, if I make any big "system changes", I like reformatting.
In other words, reformatting is recommended, but not required. 😉
