Logging into XP domain through VPN. How?

To use a certain application I need to log on into the domain. I can't do that since i'm currently at home on my dsl connection. However, I do have a VPN connection setup. Is there a way to make windows connect to VPN first prior to logging into the domain?

Not that I know of. However, I too have to connect to a domain through a VPN client.

Setup the domain while logged into the VPN client. Then, whenever you login to your ocmputer (after a restart, etc.) log in as your domain user. You should be able to login without being connected to the VPN client. Then, once Windows has loaded, log in to your VPN client and use the program that you need. It should work.

What type of VPN client are you using? My Cisco VPN client allows you to launch it before you log into the domain. If you're using a proprietary client (Cisco, Aventail, etc.), check to see if there is such an option.

If you use the standard windows VPN client, you should have an option to "log on using dial-up connection" at the windows login prompt. Select that, pick your VPN connection as the "dial-up" connection and it'll work smooth as silk.
