Logging into Linksys WRT54G setup stuff

I have a wireless WRT54G Linksys router. Whenever I attempt to log in to the setup screen (192.168.1.1), it takes a while (30 seconds?) before the username/password screen displays. After I log in, it takes a while to open each tab that I click on, etc.

My firmware is up-to-date, no one is hogging bandwidth from my house, and no one is accessing the network from outside my house. Any thoughts on why this is so slow?

Thanks!

I can't offer any help but I did notice this as well on my Dlink sometimes. If I reboot it it seems to speed things up, but it's not as fast as a 100mb http connection should be.
