Need to make firewood out of a downed tree in the backyard and would like to purchase a tool that makes rolling a log easier. Plus with a stand to prop up the log so I can chainsaw through it and keep the tip out of the dirt. (http://www.logrite.com/store/Item/Universal-Log-Stand)

I like the toe hook on the cant hook and feel it would grab a little better. But the spike on the peavey is useful to pry logs apart when stacked. Plus you can drive the spike into the ground and stand the tool up straight when not using it.

Talked to some guys and some prefer one tool to the other. Almost a 50-50 split.

I have a logrite cant hook and that's my suggestion. The hook on the end really bites in when rolling, I don't think a peavey would be as effective. A pickaroon is a handy tool too if you want a sharp point
