Logged in with a temporary profile

Sometime when I log in, I get taken to a blank desktop, and get a message that I have been logged in with a temporary profile.

I'm using Win 8.1 64 bit. The system is a home system, so not bound to a domain. I have a local account (none of this MS account BS).

The HD is not encrypted (it's actually an SSD). I've done plenty of disk checks, and they are all fine - SMART is fine.

In general, if I log off, and then log in again, it is fine - but I'm just wondering WTH is going on?

I get this a lot at work, but that's on a domain, and the network is a bit flaky - but why is my home machine with local profiles doing this?

Date/Time all correct and synced
Main HD has about 30 GB free.

Virus scan found nothing.

SFC /scannow found some errors but couldn't fix them.

I then tried
DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

And that fixed the SFC errors.

We'll see if the problem goes away. It only happens once every week or 2, so it'll take a while to know if it's been fixed.
