I heard about a remake of Logan's Run for a long time now, but Hollywood has been silent on this topic. I thought the concept and plot for the original movie was cool but the technology used in it was lacking at the time. So this is a perfect candidate for a remake.

I was thinking about this movie just because I turned 30 earlier this year and it seem I didn't accomplish a whole lot in my life. According to the IMDB, they changed the original death at 30 premise to death at 21 for the remake. :Q

To those who watched the original: do you remember how they explained to the citizens what happens when they grow old? Accelerated to Heaven? Painless recycling so one can return back to a life of hedonism?

I thought it was just a recycling, that's why they were so excited in the beginning when they saw that baby... It was a friend of theirs who was "recycled" or something.

Good show! Hope the remake doesn't fsck it up.

Actually it was age 21 in the William F. Nolan novel that LR was bsed on, so that's one change they can justify. (I'd guess for the original movie they didn't think people would buy 34-year-old Michael York as being 20 years old :) )

Aside from the city model shots I don't recall any real flaws in the original, so I don't see any need to re-make it. But I was pleasantly surprised by the Dawn of the Dead remake so I'll reserve judgment.

Thanks. I saw it a long time ago as a kid so I don't remember that scene.

Normally, I hate remakes/rehash of old movies, but for some reason I am looking forward to this one. Plus, Bryan Singer (of X-Men fame) is the director for this one.
