I have the 401 model TV card from Hauppauge and I'm experiencing extremely frequent system lockups when I open the WinTV application.
First of all, I have to say that the WinTV card runs flawlessly under Windows 2000 -- however I can't get it to work reliably under Windows 9x/ME for anything! This is frustrating me and I hope someone may have a solution.
The most common lockup I get causes my system to stop responding entirely *except* for the WinTV application, in which the video and audio keeps playing. However, I have to reboot to get my system to respond again.
I have the latest VIA 4-in-1 drivers for my VIA chipset. I also have the latest drivers/software from Hauppauge. I tried applying the various lockup "solutions" from Hauppauge's FAQ, but to no avail.
My system specs:
Celeron 366@550
Via Apollo Pro 133 chipset
192MB of PC100 RAM
Monster Sound MX300
CLAP GeForce
USR 3Com 56k Fax Modem
