I have been using a 1.33ghz tbird for about 2 weeks now with no problems running at default speed. Now I have been getting lockups in 3d games or applications about 2 minutes after i run them. The thing is, if i downclock the processor to 1.2 ghz it works perfectly fine (taking the bus back to 100mhz) I know it's not a heat problem because it runs at 40C idle and 44-45C full load. I am currently running a 1.13GHZ stable with no problems at all. What should I replace...the mobo, processor, or get a 400W power supply?

When you overclock the bus you are running everything higher (pci/AGP/IDE)

If so you have a card that does not like it.

Q's:

1. Did you install the Via 4in1's? Latest are 4.29 and are essential to stability.
2. Did you merge the registry key from amd.com for the lockup problems?
3. Did you install the hotfix from MS on VIA and AGP lockups?

Try these and get back to us. Without these three things, its gonna luck up under Windows 2000 quite quickly.

If this is Windows 98/ME, you just need the Via 4in1's and you'll be fine.
