Lockups - Duplicate Devices in Device Manager

In Safe Mode I see something like six drives and HD controllers for the two physical drives I have. Wonder if this can be cause of mysterious lockups I've been having and whether I should delete all these devices in Safe Mode (will Windows reinstall?). I'm running an Abit KT7A with Duron 600@834.

Try going into the BIOS and let it auto detect. If this doesn't work, remove the additional hard drives and only leave the cd-rom and the master (c:\) drive in there.
