Why do they have an off topic forum here to post your oppinion if they are going to lock up posts that people get irrate over if they have different oppinions?
 
they lock flame wars because they waste bandwith and have no purpose, also any pr0n.

but this thread belongs in Forum Issues
 
you are obviosly new here.

some topics have just been beaten to death here and often some topics result in flamewars no matter what is done.

Yeah, that's too bad. I had a good response to Jerboy's earlier post, but I couldn't get it in before the lock. 🙁

I remember him...

MOD quotes are a strange thing, they seem to usually be given out for bad behavior, but people display them in sigs like trophies. Kind of makes me want one, but I don't feel like posting flamebait to get one. 😛 Perhaps, eventually, if I keep trying, I will say something that will make a mod laugh hard enough to respond. 😀

It was my understand that Off-Topic was part of the AnandTech where we are allowed to discuss whatever we wanted as long as it wasn't turning into complete nef such as when everyone repeats over same quote over and over and over again without typing their own message body.

To tell you my opinion, I don't think most threads here on Off Topic has a purpose short of our own entertainment, question on something you'd like know that you could never ask in real world and just plain old having fun.

What is defined as "wasteful bandwidth" and "useful bandwidth" on an OFF-TOPIC forum?
I believe every post has a purpose, otherwise people wouldn't post it. What is the definition of "purpose" here on ATOT?
