Hi i need a little help.. Lets see where to begin, I just installed a 1.2ghz thunderbird riding a kt7a w/out raid mobo.. And i'm having lock ups and ignorant stuff.. For instance when installing something... close to the end i'll freeze.. sometimes surfing in windows i'll freeze..but the weirdest thing is.. I can sit and play games for hours on end and not the first problem..

I've formatted 3 times so far.. I'm running win98se I was going to try to install win2k professional but it seems my disc got up and walked away.. it seems to do that a lot..

System is as follows

1.2ghz axia Socket A Thunderbird
kt7a motherboard without raid
geforce2 mx
sound blaster live x-gamer 5.1
dfe-530tx nic
hp 9300 series 10x4x32 burner
8x samsung dvd rom
i think that about covers it

other info:
Directx 8.0a
I have every driver installed for every device
And the latest.. I never had the first problem with my old system.. so i'm thinking this could be something in the bios?

Its not overclocked and i've tried increasing the voltage to as high as 1.85 on stocked cpu

I'm fresh out of ideas.. anyone have any?

Also if something does finish installing... You know how certain program require you to reboot during the middle of the installation..Well when i try to install those.. An error msg comes up saying that file is corrupt and then i have to start it over manually and it usually doesnt even work right.. I just want my computer! =(
