Locking SATA Cables

When in CompUSA a few days ago, I noticed that they had these cables, and was wondering how well they worked? It seems that everytime I get inside the case, I knock one of them loose.

Since I saw them in the store and not on the internet, I didn't have a link. But, this may show enough to demonstrate what I meant:

It doesn't say anything specifically about the lock, but it looks about the same as the ones that do.

Check out the $3 locking cables from SVC.com. I got a few of them and they really really lock-in to the sockets.

Hmm, unfortunately it appears that they only accept CCs and PayPal and don't accept checks or money orders. So I will look elsewhere.

Gotta love that place. I used to drive there after work to pickup stuff =)

Can someone tell me what the locking latch does? I'm using DFI cables right now and 1 of them previously just had the plastic break and it was a dangerousl yloose connection which caused some write errors. Luckily DFI was nice enough to send me 3 more even though only 1 broke.

Locking just means there's a metal clip on the ends of the cable to secure it to the socket. You need to press down on the clip to release the cable from the socket. I don't have this problem with regular non-locking SATA cables, but some people say theirs tend to fall out from the socket a lot. Gigabyte mobos come w/ the locking SATA cables.

SVC accepts the following payment methods:

All major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
Money Order
SVC Gift Certificates
Cash (For Pick Up/Will Call customers only)

I'm not sure, but I imagine that the metal clips also strenghten the plug somewhat, so that might not loosen as some do.

I guess that I'm blind, but I still have the order form open, and I do not see anything permitting paying by money order. Usually, there is a "other methods" option somewhere, but I don't see it, or another method to do this.

Looks like they added PayPal and dropped MOs.
