Locked up boot. Will not reset.

Have an asus mb A7A266 running XP Home. System is locked up in boot process. Geting a repeating long tone/beep. Reset memory boards did't help. Never had any problems before. Can not shut down or restart with reset, front or rear power buttons, or power cord. When I unplug and reconnect it starts right at locked up point. Any suggestions? Thanks

Where does it lock up? Does the BIOS initialize?
