I got this in an email from my coworker. haha...
anyway...

Locked your keys in your car ???? Did you know this??

If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home,
call someone on your (or someone else's) cell phone.

Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the
other person at your home press the unlock button of your key fob
(clicker), holding it near the phone on their end. Your car doors
will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you.

Distance is no object you could be hundreds of miles away, and if
you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car,
you can unlock the doors (or the trunk!).

Editor's Note * It works fine! We tried it out, and it unlocked our
car over a cell phone!)

Mike's Note * I locked the car had my youngest daughter call me while I was far away
from the car. I clicked open into the phone and I could hear the car
doors unlock through her cell phone.. My daughter confirmed that sure
enough the doors opened.

Pass this one on to your friends

hmm...i guess i should get a tape recorder and point the remote at the recorder then record the transmitter on tape!

Repost! And seen in so many of those mass emails.

LOL! Last time I checked... radio waves don't pass through cellular networks too well.

BS.

Cellphones only transfer sound and even that is butchered ten different ways and then put together before it gets to you.

Edit - I hate people who have no idea about stuff like this and make stuff up. My brother and his idiot friends tried this same bs on me but I had already taken my communication theory class and tore them a new one EE style ;)

It always worked for me, and my car doesn't even have keyless entry!

I used to get mad at the email forwards, but now I just send them back to the people with links of their 'hoaxness.'

I get MAD when people make no attempt to correct to the people they sent out the email to. Stop the chain people.

I always stop the chain, always. I tell everyone I know about Snopes, especially the morons that perpetuate this crap. I had to stomp a mudhole in a friend's ass for sending out an e-mail about how Target is anti-military to a bunch of military people. My wife works for Target for crying out loud! She would quit there tomorrow if they did anything even remotely anti-military.

if that works, then you can just ask the person to take a picture of the car keys using the cell phone and send it

dude, that's stupid

Where it will use the enamel on your teeth as an antennae to increase the range of your keyfob remote? yeh it works.
