Locked out of online banking

I plugged in my password or security code, have to do both, wrong on 3 log in attempts and now I have to go through re-setting everything on the phone to be able to view my personal accounts online.

What a pain. Good security, but a pain in the butt right now.

Anyone else doing all of their banking online?

My first attempt at online banking was worse. I signed up for a back account and wanted online banking (this was nearly 10 years ago). They allowed online banking, but they had to mail the password, not email, but snail mail. They made a mistake on the password that they mailed to me. I tried my 3 times and was locked out. Too bad for me, I guess. I had to phone in and explain everything. But that wasn't enough. They had to reset the passwork and remail me a new one - snail mail of course. That really sucked when I had urgent banking to do (physical checks hadn't arrived in the mail yet and the place I needed a check for didn't accept starter checks).

Uhhhhh, that's still how they do, at least the bank i'm with does. 😱

The only time I really go to the bank or bank machine is when I need cash, otherwise everything is done online.

99% of my banking is online, except when I have to cash a check. ING FTW

positive. i had to call the bank to reset everything.

Yes, you did. Your SSN and mother's maiden name, along with the last 3 zip codes you lived it will come in handy when I apply for that AMEX Black Card.

This has happened to me more than a few times. It's not fun when you get someone on the phone who has no idea what they're actually supposed to be doing.

"Uh, hi. I'm locked out of everything."
Have you applied for our premium calling package?
"WHAT? I'm calling about my debit card with SomeBank"
Oh. OK, just a minute let me connect you with the right department.
*five minutes on hold later*

Been there, done that.
