HI
New user here.
I just got a 1.2 gig T-Bird.
The Stenceling (sp) on the unit is as follows.
1. A1200AM53C
2. AXIA 0108CPIW
3. Is the info on this line the serial number?
Also, it is a retail boxed unit with heatsink and fan.

And, the L1 is a follows. L1 .IIII (The I is the strapping)
Is this cpu locked or unlocked???
Thanks

Hi
Can't really try it yet.
I'm still in the process of getting all the components needed to build the pc. Still need the HD and video card, cd rom, floppy to go with the mobo and ram and case and cpu to get enough together to fire it up.
While I assemble the pc,, I am on here getting as much info as I can to help make the assembly easier.
Thus,,, is the cpu locked or unlocked question.
Thanks

It should be unlocked. SuperKen! is right -- just see if you can change the multiplier. If so, it's unlocked, obviously. You can also just have a look at the L1 bridges -- see if they are connected or not. If they're connected, then it's not multiplier locked. Check here for details.

HI Guys
