locked my keys in the car

Got a older 96 Geo Prizm a month or so ago and am not use to the locks on it. I was messing around with the car today forgetting the rest of the doors was locked. Well I left the keys in the car not realizing my elbow must have hit the lock since the door is now locked with my keys inside.

I bought a Slim Jim and having little luck unlocking it. I had the lock move some once but thats it. Is it near impossible to get it unlocked with one? What are some prices a locksmith might charge to unlock it? Do they use a Slim Jim?

You'll have to call to get prices from a locksmith. Do a google search for unlocking the car or other cars simmilair to it. Happened to a friend of mine and after some messing around with a coat hanger we were able to unlock his car pretty quickly.

Good Luck 🙂

I locked my keys in my car once. I saw how they did it. They take something similar to a door stop (triangle) and force it between the door and car. Essentially creating a space there and they put like a rod in there to open the door. They use like two plastic triagles with a space between them. Slim jims aren't good becuse if your not careful you can actually rip the lock linkgage up.

I ended up using the Slim Jim and forced it between the door and the car from the backside of the door. I was able to hook the lock and pull up. Now I don't have to spend the money to have it unlocked. Scratched the paint on the inside of the door some but I don't care the car is a piece of crap.
