2000 Toyota Sienna.
Sometimes the key would not turn in the ignition. but sometimes it would.
I bought a new ignition lock cylinder from toyota, and it came with a new key.
I installed the new lock cylinder, put the new key in. It turned over, but did not start.
I'm guessing this is because the new key's transponder code does not match the vehicle?
So I put the old cylinder back in, and I get the same problem - the key turns over, but does not start.
Does the fact that the key has a transponder affect the situation?
I'm wondering if maybe the car locked itself down from starting at all because I tried to start it with the new key with a different code...
