Lock this thread imediatley, please.

While the question does seem painfully obvious on a very sensitive and fresh subject, I don't think a lock is necessary given the worthwhile discussion in the later part of the thread.

I'd monitor it closely, though, and lock it immediately if it gets out of line.

True, but the topic is disgusting. Promoting it is equally disgusting.

Yeah, I agree with you on that...

In no way is anyone promoting rape of children. Although it is a tough subject, it is one that occurs and one that can not be ignored.

Very true, but when a thread starts out with a painfully obvious and unbelievably stupid question, I cannot help but become annoyed and disgusted.

i agree with you, but i think it should stay open because it actually evolved into fairly relevant and informative conversation.

As I posted in that thread, I don't agree the original question was stupid, and I think these kinds of discussions are helpful, even if they make people uncomfortable. Frankly I've been haunted by my own exposure to child molestation, but it's cathartic to talk about it and share views and experiences. There's nothing harmful about information and opinion, and this discussion in no way promotes or minimizes the horror of child molestation.
