Well, 3 weeks ago the screen on my old P-MMX 166 laptop decided to break on me, that is to say it won't stay up by itself anymore. After the local PC repair shop said they wouldn't touch it, I ordered a "new" P3 650 laptop to take its place. Now, I've been looking to put together a dedicated router/firewall to improve security a bit (my SMB/NFS/file/VMware server is pretty much exposed to the internet right now) and this has given me a golden opportunity to do just that.

Now here's the problem: What should I name it?

As of late, I've been following a naming scheme of mischevious, evil or otherwise "negative" mythical characters. My most recent builds have been named "Asmodeus" (XP2500) and "Belphegor" (dual Opteron 240). However, those names were pretty much picked at random, and from now on I would like to come up with names that have something to do with the computer's main purpose if possible. For example I might rename my server "Atlas" when I change its IP address.

So, with that in mind, what would be a good name for this dedicated router? I have already considered "Cerberus" but that's been done to death and then some. "Janus" would work if he were evil. Any other ideas?

EDIT: darktubbly settled it for me. The router will be named "Charon".

Name it Charon...the boatman on the river Styx in Greek (?) mythology. The dude was responsible for carrying lost souls (packets) from point A to B. Oh, and he refused customers who couldn't pay (invalid packets). Sounds like a router to me.
