Alrite I slipped on my roommate. My roommate who has a girlfriend for probably a year now, brings a girl home and introduced me. We started talking about 28 days the movie, and I go "Hey you should take your girlfriend to see it." And then silence, was I not suppose to mention his girlfriend? Gaves me the evil eye. And now I'm doomed. Playa no more. Should I be punished? Did I break the rule of the playa code? Or did I do a good deed for his girlfriend keeping my roommate on check?

Your friend is a tool if he's cheating on his girlfriend. Who cares if you screwed up? He deserves to be blocked in that case.

Edit: Post edited to cover my ass. ;)

BTW, Playa in Spanish means "bay", not "beach" as I recall. (e.g. Playa Giron=Bay of Pigs) :D

I don't get what happened. Yeah, can anyone explain me the issue step by step? Maybe I'm feeling too dumb today.

not necesarily

Not necessarily?

/steps aside to let any real Spanish speakers take over the podium from this pasty white beloved patriot ;)

different types of spanish are spoken in different countries. to say that no spanish people use la playa when saying the beach is not accurate.

Yes. Very valid point. I wasn't aware that "playa" could also mean "beach" in different dialects of Spanish.

I'll crawl back into my hole now....:eek::eek::eek::eek:

I was referring to myself as the beloved patriot here. Sorry if that wasn't clear. Will edit the post and all apologies to anyone who mistook my meaning.

sometimes the mods don't realize that you can innocently type certain words a certain way (not using alt-0160) and they will bypass the filter like nothing ever happened.

It would be nice if there was an option to "earmuff" the forums (a la Old School :D) so anyone who doesn't want to see profanity could have it bleeped out. Seems more reasonable than the mods banning or threatening to ban people for saying one little word. It's not like this board was all that family-friendly to begin with, so I don't know why the mods are so hard on people sometimes.

its gotta just be me and a certain watcher cuz i've said some absurd and crude things b4

EDIT: A specific page to reference what is and what isnt allowed would be a good place to start b4 the earmuffs system gets into place
