First of all, wrong forum.

Second, you need to give more details, such as what firewall you're using. If you're using a software firewall such as Zone Alarm you'll need to remark Messenger as an application that is allowed through the firewall.

Ok, normaly i would never say anything about this, but this is like the 5th post today for tech support in OT.

Take it to the correct forum, If you want to post some help for this guy take it to the correct forum. I realize that OT has more people but there is a place for tech support and there is a place for OT.

I know its the wrong forum, but stuff here gets noticed.

Its a hardware firewall on a syslink router. The new MSN messanger wont connect. Do I need to open another port that messanger uses or set up a proxy server? and if the proxy what the heck would the settings be?
