Time for the evolving post:

I know the poll is not perfect (there are overlaps and other problems), chose the answer that best suites your beliefs.

Punctuated Equilibrium subscriber here, while I do not believe that the Biogenetic law should be called a law, it does have some grounds in truth as well. I am actually surprised at how often people you talk to sometimes believe in Lamarckian like ideas, I wanted to see how prevalent it was on ATOT.

Most textbooks that I have seen from my local high schools (I have relatives that are instructors) are very dated in regards to the modern synthetic theory.

I am only a junior year biology major undergrad (limits being Genetics 352 and Organic Chem 351 (although not really any biology there)), so go easy on me:eek:

You're just as guilty. ;)

Maybe it's punctuated equilibrium, maybe it's gradual. I'd say that it's both. Nature likes to try all kinds of things. Some things work well, others don't. Crocodiles and cockroaches seem to be excellent successes.

Concerning your other poll options, now you're using vocabulary I'm not familiar with. :)
I'll take Mendelism for $600, Alex.
