Republican Rep. Darrell Issa has called for a special prosecutor, and not tiny weasel racist AG Jeff Beauregard Sessions, to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 election, including any collusion between Russian officials and the Trump administration.

Republican Rep. Darrell Issa of Vista, who once called President Obama "one of the most corrupt presidents in modern times," struck a more conciliatory tone Saturday and said Republicans have to do a better job listening to the concerns of all Americans, even those critical of the GOP.

Issa repeated his call for a special prosecutor to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 election, which could include any communications between Russian officials and the Trump administration. Issa first called for the independent investigation Friday night when he appeared on HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher.”

“That’s historically the right way to deal with this,” Issa said Saturday.

Issa also said he supports a robust, bipartisan investigation by the House and Senate intelligence committees.

“Republicans and Democrats who have special access in the select intelligence committees, they do need to know what Russia was doing and how they were doing it,” Issa said. “We are dealing with an evil, smaller empire.”

"Lock him up"! No, just no. I shouldn't have to explain that in a society that professes due process regardless of its imperfect application. I said that about Bush too. Have proper investigations and then mete out justice based on the facts discovered by proper means. Well that didn't happen with Iraq so the "Honored dead" will remain forever without justice.

That said a repeat of our shame should not happen again. Issa is right and an independent investigation which is not covered up or partisan loaded must happen and THEN if what we think we know is true then the full force of the law applied.

here's the thing, drumpf is now the president and there appears to be enough proof to warrant an investigation of the sitting president. which would be more important? an ex secty of state possibly deleting emails or a sitting president possibly in collusion with the russian govt to rig the election in his favor.
hmmmm... I wonder which is a tad more pressing.
we get it, you think hillary is well beyond evil and needs to be locked up, but drumpf is flawless and can do no wrong.

Hilary's "scandal" was investigated . . . but if you want a special investigator to again go into that, sure, as long as concurrently another special investigator is named for the TREASONOUS COLLUSION between Trump's gang and Vlad.

I don't think Hillary is well beyond evil, nor needs to be locked up, nor that Trump can do no wrong. That is what you think I think, but you can't read minds as well as you'd like to believe. I only called for investigation, not locking up without one.

I'm confused. what is the actual story here? I keep hearing this repeated that "russia hacked the election", mostly by the exact same news sources that previously said stuff like "No Trump, the election can't be hacked!". What does it really mean? Did russian agents sneak into the voting boths and change people's votes? Did the russian government use magic mind-control rays to make people vote for Trump? Did russians infiltrate the DNC and force them to nominate the incredibly incompetant and terrible candidate hillary and thats how they made Trump win?

What is the theory here?

In case you just emerged from a drug induced coma, the Trump campaign colluding with Russia to effect the election is a high crime and treason. How they did it is not as relevant.

Right now we don't have evidence voting machines were hacked.

Actually Trump admitted long ago that the whole "lock her up thing" was just something that played well during the campaign but now that he won we can move past that. Funny, even an ignorant retard like Trump knows it was bullshit but a super smart guy like disappoint here is still under the spell. Hell, he still doesn't even think it was investigated, lol.
