Is there some way to do what it says in title?

Basically, I have couple hard drives, (but the case would apply for partitions also.) One of them I encrypted fully, so the partition shows up as unformatted, or raw, from an OS. The other drive is unencrypted, and each drive has its own OS. Is there some way to guarantee invisibility of the encrypted drive when booting from the other OS? Disabling the sata port in the bios is the first thing I tried, but in this case the OS didn't boot at all, because of some (failed) interaction with the controller driver installed on the unencrypted drive and it not being able to see all the ports. Not assigning a drive letter works fine so far, but leaves me feeling uncomfortable that somehow the partition may anyway be modified. For instance, windows is aware of this partition as can be seen in the storage manager snap-in, and it spins-up and spins-down from time to time, and it has asked once if this drive should be formatted. So, is there any way to lock / hide / disable / or make invisible this other hard drive from Windows? For instance, it's not an issue that the drive is visible from the storage manager snap-in, so long as it is locked in some way that it can't be easily affected.

thanks

If you used Disk Management to remove the drive letter then you have "dismounted" that drive or partion. The current operating system only sees it as an unformatted volume, which is why it prompts to format the volume if you should click on it in Explorer. Only when you "mount" (enable the drive letter) that volume/s will the current operating system have access to it.
