Location of temp probes?

I was going to put an LCD is my system and was wondering where to put the temp probes? I will be monitoring 2`4 temps. one of which is cpu. Where can i put the temp prob to read the cpu temp? I know my board has one built in to be read in the BIOS but i dont know how to monitor this information on the LCD?

I slid the thermocouple on mine between the heatsink and the chip itself. Not under the die mind you, that still does have perfect contact with the heatsink. But around the die - the rest of the chip is a little bit lower when you're looking at it from the side and doesn't actually contact the heatsink. I just pushed it into that gap.

Ok. Next question. How can i monitor hdd temp? Just stick the thermal probe on the hdd somewhere? And if so, how would i afix it to the drive?
