So, I'm having this really odd problem that started a little less than a week ago. The network in my house is totally fine, and it even seems so on my computer when I test it. I have run various speed tests on various computers in my house, and they all give the same speeds (15-25 ms lag, 24-28 mbps download, and 4-4.7 mbps up), including mine. However, on only my computer, the internet nevertheless seems inexplicably slow. The cardinal example is a particular site where I hunt for jobs which I cannot access at all (both Chrome and Firefox have spit back connection interrupted errors), but am perfectly able to do so on other computers in my house. I have even upgraded my old and slightly battered Netgear wireless adapter to a much newer and sexier version, which hasn't helped at all. Switching between 2.4 ghz and 5 networks (we have both) doesn't affect the problem either. I figure it must be something unique to my computer, but I have no idea what as I am a complete network ignoramus. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Apparently the chrome troubleshooting suggestions were useful. All I had to do was disable my proxy server.

how do you disable the proxy server in chrome?

using speedtest.net, wired connection i get 25d/l, but on wifi, it becomes 4 d/l. any way to speed up my wifi d/l?

Thnks
