Can anyone tell me of any products that will give me local channels for free? I live in a building with no antenna. I usually have to pay my cable company ~$12 for it a month. Is there anything that would give me the basic broadcast channels in clear quality for free? THX! :)

Are the windows in your apartment metal? Last spring, me and two other buddies were in an old building on campus working out some calculus proofs on the blackboards (they stuck with us better that way for some reason) when we realized we were missing Elisabeth on Survivor. So we found one of the university owned TV/VCR carts, and I pulled the coax out of the VCR and touched it to the window in the room. Reception wasn't great, but it worked. You could try that.

A set top antenna is probably your best bet. I know on my satallite dish, I can run an antenna into the back, and output that signal to the TV. Might be able to do that on your cable box

Yep, cheap. I don't mind too much, but then again, if I could invest in something and not have to pay yet another bill, i'd rather. Yea, antennas only work if your building has an antenna on it.
