Are there any MMoRPG type games that don't require an Internet Connection I'm wanting to show a friend of mine this type of game, hows it plays, etc.

I've got CD's for the following:

DoaC
Everquest II
Horizons
WOW
Guild Wars

I''ve been told the WOW can be played localy - is this true?

Yes, but you will need a cracked server on the LAN, which IIRC, violates the TOS.

When Ludmilla comes out, you should be able to play everything without using the core engine.

no keys needed, however, since it is not a real server, some things won't work, for example, this 'simulator' that I played around with have major bugs making warlock the weakest character since most of their DOT spells won't work. The beta Ludmilla is the best simulator so far, but you won't be able to get a copy at this time. You'll have to settle with WDDG for now.

yes, in fact, it can get boring unless you can get a few friends on the lan... even then it's not really the same, like watered down thai iced tea. you can try some private servers on the net that holds 50-100+ people and see.
